Joe Garner left Scottish Premiership giants Rangers for Ipswich Town after just one year and Eduardo Herrera too is set to cut his spell at Ibrox short.

24 games and two goals after he joined Rangers for £1.5 million, Eduardo Herrera’s spell in Scottish football is coming to an end.
The former Pumas UNAM striker has been the very definition of an expensive flop during his time at Ibrox and, like so many of the other imports brought in during Pedro Caixinha’s time in charge, looks destined for a swift exit.
The Daily Record report that Chivas USA are keen to take the 29-year-old back to Liga MX at the end of this season. Herrera, whose last goal came in a cup clash against Partick Thistle in September and who has not made a league appearance in 2018, will not be missed on the Ibrox terraces.

But for the second summer in a row, are Rangers set to make a substantial loss on an ill-judged striker signing.
Two seasons, two striking flops
Joe Garner signed a three-year deal with the Glasgow giants in August 2016 when he completed a £1.8 million move from Preston but he did not come close to making the impact expected north of the border.
An old-school striker, Garner struggled to adapt to Mark Warburton’s technical, pass and move style and ended the campaign with just seven goals in 31 league games.

It came as no surprise when Rangers sold him to Ipswich 10 months on but, leaving for just £1 million according to The Scotsman, the Gers clearly made an expensive mistake.
And it is unlikely that Chivas will be handing Rangers anything like the £1.5 million they initially invested in Herrera. At least they will make a profit when Alfredo Morelos eventually leaves.
