Two months after making those horrific mistakes in the Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid, it is going from bad to worse for Liverpool’s German goalkeeper.
It was perhaps expected that he would be a little jittery in pre-season, but the sad fact is that Karius looks more nervy and error-prone than ever. Fumbles against Tranmere and the 3-1 loss to Dortmund have been pounced on by social media and Jurgen Klopp has now been forced to spend a world record £67 million on Alisson Becker due to concerns about his former number one.
And, according to the Telegraph, Karius is far from happy with the arrival of the Brazilian from Roma. It is understood that he feels let down by Klopp, despite the manager fighting his corner on countless occasions.
It is reported that Karius could even leave Liverpool this summer as he continues to contemplate his future at Anfield. Tellingly, however, it seems he would not be missed.
Many Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to say something along the lines of ‘good riddance’…or try to palm him off on Steven Gerrard’s Rangers.
