Dejan Lovren is celebrating four years since his Premier League debut at Liverpool

It is now four years to the day since Dejan Lovren made his debut for Liverpool.
A £20 million signing from Southampton in the summer of 2014, as reported by the BBC, the Croatian centre-back celebrated a clean sheet on his first appearance for the club, a 1-0 win against West Bromwich Albion.
Though after making a series of mistakes in recent years, few might have expected that Lovren would go on to make over 150 appearances for the Merseyside giants.

2018 proved to be something of a wonderful year for Lovren. He reached the finals of the World Cup and the Champions League and losing both, to France and Real Madrid respectively, should not spoil what has been a year of redemption – even if his claims that he’s ‘definitely’ one of the world’s best defenders still seems a little ambitious.
But on the anniversary of his first outing in that famous Red shirt, it seems that the former Lyon centre-back still has a long way to go if he is to win over every single Liverpool supporter.

As much as Lovren has improved, aided no doubt by the arrival of Virgil van Dijk, it seems that mistakes are still never too far away after all.
