But how can a Newcastle side who have not spent a penny in the transfer window compete for a player some are even saying can surpass former Betis starlet and current Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos?
Easy. Fabian Ruiz has a £14 million release clause in his contract – for now at least – with Estadio Deportivo claiming that Betis are desperately trying to offer him a new deal and add another £20 million on to his price-tag.
