Celtic’s Scottish Premiership champion Scott Brown has been linked with a move to Australian A-League outfit Western Melbourne.

The 33-year-old’s contract expires at the end of the season and, heading into the Autumn of his career, Brown could be offered the rare chance to sample a completely different lifestyle on the opposite side of the globe while he still can.
The Mail reported on the weekend that Western Melbourne are keen to lure Brown to Australia at the end of this season. Western Melbourne are hoping to be included in the new-look A-League, which will be expanded from 10 to 12 teams next year, and Brown has been identified as a potential marquee addition.
And, writing on Twitter, Brown’s Melbourne-born former Celtic teammate Scott McDonald has now given his view on the situation – and believes that there is a genuine offer on the table.
Brown stated recently that he is keen to continue his journey with Celtic and would jump at the chance to sign a new contract to stay at Parkhead.
But that was before interest from Australia emerged and, after over a decade at the same club, you could hardly blame the former Scotland captain for being tempted by a change of scenery.
