Samir Nasri has made five Premier League appearances for Manuel Pellegrini’s West Ham United and shone against Huddersfield Town on Saturday.
Samir Nasri has admitted that he is uncertain about whether he has a future at West Ham United, while speaking to the Standard.
The 31-year-old joined the Hammers on the last day of 2018, signing on a free until the end of the season after a doping ban that kept him out of action for a number of months.
Although Nasri has made just five Premier League appearances since for Manuel Pellegrini’s outfit, he has made an impression whenever he has featured.
The former Arsenal and Manchester City winger came of the bench to inspire Saturday’s dramatic comeback win against Huddersfield Town, setting up Javier Hernandez’s equaliser with a pinpoint back-post cross.
Whether Nasri will be a West Ham player in 2019/20 remains to be seen.
“I don’t know about my future,” said the former France international. “The most important thing for me was to come back, which I did in January.
“I have seven games left and I just want to play free of injury and then we will sit down and see what is next.”
Nasri may be past his best but he has looked a cut above in claret and blue, proving that his football brain is as sharp as ever.
The veteran gives the Hammers that dash of unpredictability and class in the centre of the park and he will surely only get better with more regular game-time, given that he spent most of 2018 out of action.
