Nuno Espirito Santo’s Wolverhampton Wanderers are seventh in the Premier League and well placed to qualify for the Europa League.

Sam Allardyce has warned Wolverhampton Wanderers of the potential pitfalls of a European campaign next season, while speaking on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast on talkSPORT (2 April, 9.30am).
Wolves were only promoted to the Premier League a year ago but they have taken to the top flight like a duck to water, with Nuno Espirito Santo’s side cruising into the top half while bloodying the noses of the big boys on numerous occasions.
As it stands, it looks like European football could be coming to Molineux in the near future, too. Wolves are currently seventh in the Premier League table and they will reach the FA Cup final if they beat Watford at Wembley next week.
But Allardyce believes that continental competition could come too soon for one of the Premier League’s more compact squads, pointing to Burnley’s ongoing struggles after an ill-fated European adventure.
“It’d be too much to go into Europe, look what happened to Burnley,” said the former England boss, who is a boyhood Wolves fan.

“They don’t have the squad. It could be detrimental to their Premier League status.”
A Burnley side who defied expectations to finish seventh in 2017/18 failed to win any of their first five Premier League games this season after taking on Aberdeen, Istanbul Bahaksehir and Olympiakos in the Europa League qualifiers.
So maybe Allardyce’s warning is worth listening to.
