Queens Park Rangers loaned midfielder Ryan Manning out to fellow Championship side Rotherham United in the summer transfer window.

Queens Park Rangers’ decision to loan Ryan Manning out to Rotherham United this summer certainly raised eyebrows.
The 22-year-old midfielder was expected to be a big player at Loftus Road over the next few months but is spending the season in Yorkshire instead. And Manning has certainly shown the struggling Steve McClaren what he’s missing, scoring against Stoke City and Derby County.
But, in quotes reported by The Sheffield Star, Rotherham manager Paul Warne has admitted that he’s worried about the prospect of QPR cancelling Manning’s spell at the New York Stadium in January.
“Every season-long loan has a recall option,” Warne said.
“That is obviously my fear.
“It has never been an option that we would buy him, that’s never been a conversation. In fairness to Ryan, they think the world of him at QPR, it’s not like they want him out and they want to get rid of him, they actually do like him and want him to play games.

“If he is playing really well and they are struggling in midfield they might have him back or they might do it for another reason.”
There is certainly an argument to be made that the Republic of Ireland U21 international Manning has the talent to force his way into this current QPR side, even though McClaren can call upon the likes of Massimo Luongo and Josh Scowen.
As it stands, Rotherham are 19th in the Championship, two points and two places above QPR.
