Ross Wilson wanted to bring Francis Amuzu to the Premier League with Southampton – could the winger now end up at Ibrox under Stephen Gerrard?

The problem with letting your director of football leave in October is that there’s quite a good chance that he will take his black book of transfer targets with him.
And Ross Wilson, who swapped Southampton for Rangers last month, could pick up at Ibrox where he left off at St Mary’s.
According to the Scottish Sun, Wilson is already eyeing up a January move for Hearts left-back Aaron Hickey, a brilliant 17-year-old talent who was a target for The Saints before the long-serving talentspotter left to replace Mark Allen at Ibrox.
Though Hickey might not be the only one Wilson is keeping an eye on.
According to HLN in Belgium, Rangers were one of 12 clubs who sent scouts to the Jupiler League clash between Anderlecht and Zulte Waregam on Friday night. Vincent Kompany’s side were 2-1 winners and, as you might expect from a club who gave us Romelu Lukaku, Leander Dendoncker, Youri Tielemans and Dennis Praet, there was no shortage of exciting young talents in action.
One of whom has already caught Wilson’s eye.

Het Laaste Nieuws reported in July that Wilson was interested in bringing Belgium U21 international Francis Amuzu to Southampton. The Ghana-born 20-year-old has scored three goals in 12 games already this season, though he failed to get of the bench in front of Rangers’ scouts on Friday.
Blessed with explosive pace, Amuzu is the sort of jet-heeled winger who Stephen Gerrard, who has got the best out of Ryan Kent and Sheyi Ojo this season, loves to work with.
And considering that Ojo is only on loan from Liverpool, Jordan Jones has struggled since arriving from Kilmarnock and Jamie Murphy continues to flit in and out, there may be room at Rangers for a new wideman sooner rather than later.
