Championship giants Wolverhampton Wanderers are facing competition from Premier League duo Manchester United and Liverpool for Anderson Talisca.

Anderson Talisca was born in Bahia, he has played in Lisbon and Istanbul – but could feel right at home in Wolverhampton.

According to Milliyet, Wolves are hoping to make the Brazil international their most eye-catching, and expensive, signing of the Fosun regime. It is understood that the Championship leaders are willing to pay £26.5 million to sign the Benfica attacker, who has spent the last two seasons with Besiktas.

Wolves are not alone, however. Premier League giants Liverpool and Manchester United have been heavily linked, while according to Calciomercato, Roma have seen an offer worth around £18 million rejected for Talisca with Benfica believing they can get far more for his services.

Now, Wolves might be one of the most ambitious sides in European football right now with an exciting project and the funds to back it up.

But why would Anderson Talisca reject established superpowers and Champions League regulars like Manchester United and Liverpool to join a club who may have ambitions of the top but are still far away from the summit?

Well, Wolves might have one distinct advantage in that the Molineux dressing room has a rather Iberian twang.

Adapting to English football is notoriously difficult but Talisca may be lured to the Black Country by the fact that there are seven Portuguese speaking players on the clubs’ books, not to mention manager Nuno Espirito Santo.

If Talisca wants to ensure he feels at home in England, Wolves is arguably the best possible option available to him.
