Premier League giants Chelsea are understood to be cancelling Charly Musonda’s loan spell at Scottish Premiership champions Celtic.

Barely a game goes by without Celtic fans imploring Brendan Rodgers to spice up the club’s attack by introducing young Charly Musonda.
The Hoops might have stormed to a seventh successive league title but there have been a few signs of wear and tear in the last few months with their attack becoming worryingly predictable at times. So the skilful, speedy and enigmatic Musonda looked like the ideal addition when he arrived form Chelsea on an 18-month loan in January.
But despite making a promising start to life at Parkhead, that wonderful assist in the 1-0 Europa League win against Zenit will live long in the memory, the fleet-footed Belgian has hardly been given a chance since.

Musonda has featured in just four league games and hasn’t been seen in over a month. He was even omitted from the squad for the 5-0 thrashing of Rangers which clinched the title last week.
And while Rodgers has pleaded patience, reminding fans that Musonda will have chances to impress over a year-and-a-half in Scotland, it seems that Chelsea have decided now that Celtic is not the right place for the 21-year-old to develop.

And Rodgers, really, only has himself to blame. He was worried about throwing Musonda in at the deep end but, in a few cameo appearances, he showed that he had the class and ability to make a difference.
Rodgers, for some reason, declined to put his trust in the youngster. And this now looks to have cost Celtic a potentially brilliant deal.
