Aaron Wan-Bissaka was superb as Crystal Palace saw off Swansea City in the EFL Cup clash at the Liberty Stadium on Tuesday night.

It is amazing to think that Aaron Wan-Bissaka only made his Crystal Palace debut in February. It is even more amazing to think that the 20-year-old was only converted into a right-back 18 months ago.
Because Wan-Bissaka seems to get better by the game. A Croydon-born homegrown talent who joined Palace’s academy age the age of 11, he started the year as an unknown youngster and should end it as one of the most exciting talents in English football.
Wan-Bissaka started the 1-0 EFL Cup win at Swansea City on Tuesday night. And, not for the first time in Palace colours, he was a step up from anyone else in red and blue.

The rampaging right-back was the best player on the pitch at the Liberty Stadium. He barely gave Swansea left-back Declan John a sniff going forward while, at the other end, he caused constant problems with his powerful bursts and superb crosses into the area.
It was only the wastefulness of his own teammates which stopped Wan-Bissaka capping a fine performance with an assist.
And there are many Crystal Palace fans who believe the England U20 international could develop into the club’s greatest ever academy star. And, considering they have Wilfried Zaha at the moment, that is quite a statement.
