Championship giants Leeds United are reportedly close to signing Bulgarian goalkeeper Dimitar Sheytanov from Levski Sofia.

Leeds United are set to welcome a new man to Elland Road but do not get too excited. Marcelo Bielsa and Abel Hernandez are not arriving just yet.
It is understood that the deal has been personally agreed by Levski’s owner, Spas Rusev, and may be rushed through this summer to ensure the Sofia-based outfit receive some money for a player whose contract only has a few months left to run.

Sheytanov will be the latest highly-rated youngster to arrive in West Yorkshire during the reign of director of football Victor Orta, whose deals have turned Leeds’ U23s and U18s set up into some of the most exciting in England.
But a deal for Sheytanov, who has yet to make his senior debut but has represented Bulgaria at U19 level, could raise eyebrows. Because Leeds already have two very exciting young shot-stoppers in the shape of Bailey Peacock- Farrell and Kamil Miazek.
Peacock-Farrell forced his way into Leeds’ starting XI in March and produced some excellent displays between the sticks. The 21-year-old barely put a foot wrong in 11 Championship starts.

Former Feyenoord stopper Miazek, who signed on a free earlier in the year, then took ‘BPF’s’ place in the U23 side and shone, showing why he was so highly rated in the Netherlands.
So Sheytanov must be a big talent if Leeds are willing to bring him in despite boasting two promising young shot-stoppers already. This is not the most necessary Leeds signing of recent times but is it simply an opportunity they cannot refuse?
