Tottenham Hotspur reportedly want to bring Giovanni Lo Celso to the Premier League, 12 months after he joined La Liga outfit Real Betis on loan from PSG.
Real Betis have not quite lived up to expectations in La Liga this season but no one can question the impact made by Giovanni Lo Celso in green and white.
The Argentina international joined Betis on loan from PSG last summer, according to Goal, with the Spaniards looking very likely to take up their option of a £27 million permanent deal.
Considering the Ligue 1 champions spent most of January desperately trying to sign a central midfielder, they must be wondering why they ever let Lo Celso go.
Because he has been a revelation at the Benito Villamarin. Lo Celso has even scored 12 times in all competitions; not bad for a midfielder hardly renowned for his goal-scoring exploits.
As a result, the Mail reports that Tottenham Hotspur are interested with just two months of the season remaining. But what would Spurs be getting?
In short, a creative and dynamic midfielder who idolises his Argentina teammate and PSG star Angel Di Maria.
“When I arrived in Paris, (Di Maria) welcomed me in a very good way, he helped me and accompanied me at every moment . I do not think that I have time to thank him for everything. what he did for me,” he told Marca.

Di Maria might be a winger by trade but Lo Celso’s performances in Betis colours certainly draw comparisons with the former Manchester United star’s 2013/14 season at Real Madrid, when he played in a more central role under Carlo Ancelotti.
Lo Celso’ shares Di Maria’s ability to drive forward with the ball, turning defence into attack in the blinking of an eye.
