Rangers are reportedly hoping to sign Jake Hastie, the dazzling winger who has scored five goals in nine Scottish Premiership games for Motherwell.

It seemed only a matter of time before Jake Hastie caught the eye of Rangers.
Steven Gerrard’s side are always on the lookout for exciting homegrown talents and they will be scouring the market for a new winger if Ryan Kent is forced to return to Liverpool. So the 19-year-old Motherwell starlet certainly ticks a few boxes.
The Scottish Sun reports that Rangers are circling, with Hastie’s contract at Fir Park due to expire at the end of this season.
The explosive wide man has scored five goals in nine games for ‘Well since returning from a loan at Alloa Athletic, drawing comparisons with a certain Gareth Bale thanks to his penchant for cutting inside and powering shots at goal with his left foot.
While Hastie has never played against Rangers at senior level, he has an impressive record against the Glasgow giants in youth football.

Rangers battered Motherwell’s reserves 6-2 as recently as September but Hastie made a difference coming off the bench at half-time, driving forward in typical fashion before setting up one of his side’s goals with a perfectly weighted through ball.
He also highlighted his composure inside the box in a December 2017 clash with the Gers, scoring from the spot in a 2-1 defeat. And, 12 months earlier, Hastie ran the visitor’s defence ragged in a 2-1 win for the Steelmen, scoring an instinctive finish and impressing throughout with his speed and trickery.
Rangers fans might not know too much about Hastie now but that could change soon.
