Tom Bayliss could be on his way to the Champions League finalists this summer.

According to TEAMtalk, Coventry City’s coveted midfielder is a target for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool with the Merseyside giants, who enjoyed one of the most remarkable results in their history against Barcelona on Wednesday night, keeping tabs on arguably League One’s most exciting 20-year-old.

The report adds that Bayliss has a £3 million release clause in his contract with Everton also interested.

The Mirror (5 May, page 51) reports that he also has plenty of admirers at Leeds United, Newcastle and Middlesbrough.

But, judging by his social media history, the England U19 star was clearly enthralled by Liverpool’s Champions League heroics against Lionel Messi and co.

Bayliss has also ‘liked’ a series of tweets hailing his potential future Liverpool team-mates. But could the young midfielder be fighting for a place alongside Gini Wijnaldum, Jordan Henderson and co in the coming months and years?

Should Bayliss choose Liverpool over Everton, Leeds and co, he will find himself working under a manager who is famous for giving youth a chance. There’s certainly worse places to go right now.
