Liverpool must act fast if they want Lucas Paqueta with Premier League rivals United, not to mention AC Milan, PSG and Barcelona, all heavily linked

It seems unlikely that Lucas Paqueta will be playing his football in Brazil for much longer. The 21-year-old Flamengo starlet has emerged as one of the most exciting young talents in South America and even made his first two appearances for the five-time World Cup winners in the most recent international break.
And it seems that Paqueta’s thrilling displays, not to mention the comparisons with 2007 Ballon D’Or winner Kaka, has attracted plenty of admiring glances from some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
Tuttomercatoweb stated in July that Liverpool were planning a move for Paqueta, who has a £40 million release clause in his contract as things stand. The highly-rated midfielder would have been a potential alternative to Nabil Fekir, whose move from Lyon to Anfield fell through this summer.
But Liverpool could be facing competition from an old rival.

Le 10 Sport is stating that PSG, AC Milan and Barcelona are interested – but Manchester United are understood to have opened talks with Paqeuta too ahead of a potential move in the January transfer window.
Paqueta, a number 10 who can also play as a box-to-box midfielder and has developed a reputation as a big-game player in Brazil, is hot property right now. And it remains to be seen how Liverpool react as their North West neighbours step up their pursuit.
