Getafe forward Emiliano Buendia did not get his desired move to Swansea City but will he have better luck with Leeds United’s interest?

The phrase ‘former Real Madrid youngster’ immediately makes a potential signing all the more exciting. And the situation is no different as The Sun (17 September, page 63) claims that Leeds United are eyeing a move for 20-year-old Argentine forward Emiliano Buendia.
The attacker arrived in Spain with Real back in 2009 but spend just one year with the current La Liga champions. Fortunately, he has had better luck across the city with Madrid rivals Getafe, making 35 top flight appearances and being rewarded with a new five-year deal last summer despite The Deep Blues suffering relegation to the second tier.
However, despite his lengthy contract, Leeds may have greater access to Buendia due to the fact that he is currently on loan with second division side Cultural Leonesa.

Leeds entered an agreement with Leonesa recently regarding the development of players and even loaned 24-year-old Dutch midfielder Ouasim Bouy to their Spanish counterparts for a season after signing him on a free from Juventus.
Therefore, Leeds may be hoping that Leonesa can help them seal a deal for another under-the-radar attacker. If he is anything like Samu Saiz, who arrived at Elland Road from Segunda side Huesca in the summer, Buendia will be a big hit.

And Leeds could consider the signing of the Argentine Under-20 international as something of a coup, considering that Buendia almost joined Premier League Swansea City back in January.
According to The Sun, Buendia wanted to quit Getafe and join Swansea on loan in order to put himself in the shop window and, most likely, in the sights of some of Europe’s bigger clubs.
It remains to be seen whether Buendia is equally keen to move to West Yorkshire.
