Glasgow Rangers reportedly want to bring Oldham Athletic’s Edmundson to Ibrox, as do Championship side Hull City.
With interest rising in Oldham Athletic youngster George Edmundson, it makes perfect sense that his price-tag is going up too.
Edmundson has been linked with a whole host of clubs in England and Scotland despite finish in the bottom half of League Two with the struggling Latics.
And, according to the Mail, Rangers have already seen a bid turned down for the talented 21-year-old with Oldham determined to make as much money as possible from their prized asset.
But Steven Gerrard and co should be encouraged by reports that Edmundson’s ever-increasing transfer fee has priced out one of their main competitors. According to the Hull Daily Mail, the youngster is now valued at £500,000 – a figure that has put cash-strapped Hull City out of the race.
Money is tight at the KCom Stadium Nigel Adkins’ side are expected to rely upon free agents and short-term loans.
Rangers, in contrast, should have no problem paying half a million for a player who’s impressive form earned him a place in the League Two Team of the Year.
Edmundson could replace Gareth McAuley or Joe Worrall, who will both leave Ibrox this summer.
