Reported Everton and Wolves target Trezeguet allegedly close to Czech Republic move

Premier League duo Everton and Wolverhampton Wanderers have both been linked with Egypt’s World Cup ace Mahmoud Trezeguet Hassan.

Mahmoud ‘Trezeguet’ Hassan looked set to be handed his chance in a major European league after starring for Kasimpasa in Turkey before making a very positive impression at the World Cup over in Russia.

The Sun claimed back in April that Everton were interested in the speedy winger, who shot to fame with 16 goals in the Super Lig in 2017/18. And, on the back of his lively performances for Egypt over the last month, Hurriyet claimed that Wolverhampton Wanderers had moved to trigger the £4.5 million release clause in his contract.

But rather than seal a big move to the Premier League, Trezeguet is about to swap the Turkish first division for an even smaller league.

According to Egyptian outlet King Fut, the 23-year-old has agreed terms with SK Slavia Praha, who finished second in the Czech first division last season.

Slavia have been taken over by a Chinese investor with a big stake in the ‘City Football Group’ that controls several teams across the world including Girona, Melbourne City, Yokahoma F Marinos, New York City and, of course, Manchester City.

And it seems this financial investment has enabled them to sign one of the rising stars of African football.

But you wonder whether Trezeguet might regret not seizing the chance to join a Wolves or an Everton with his reputation at its highest ever level.
