Primeira Liga giants Benfica will let Rafa Silva go with plenty of interest in England – including Everton, Leicester City and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Rafa Silva has flopped big time at Benfica since his £14.2 million move from Braga in the summer of 2016.
But a forgettable 18 months as the Estadio Da Luz does not appear to have put off potential suitors. Record stated back in November that a Wolves side already boasting a number of highly-rated Iberian talents were hoping to raid the Portuguese league again and bring Silva to Molineux.
Meanwhile, A Bola has credited both Everton and Leicester City with an interest in the so-called ‘Portuguese Eden Hazard’. It is understood that Silva could move to the Premier League on loan with the possibility of signing permanently at the end of this season for around £26.5 million.
Everton are lacking speed and creativity in wide areas, with the obvious exception of Yannick Bolasie, so Silva’s dextrous dribbling and eye for goal could provide some much-needed cutting edge for Sam Allardyce’s often toothless Toffees.
And, fortunately for Wolves, Everton and Leicester, it appears that their interest may be mutual.
Because O Jogo has stated that Silva has no interest in moving to Turkey this month, where he has more than one admirer. It is understood that Super Lig champions Besiktas were hoping to lure the 24-year-old to the Vodafone Arena, potentially making him their latest eye-catching signing after the additions of Pepe, Alvaro Negredo and co.
Bursaspor were also keen.
But it is understood that Silva does not want to continue his career in Turkey – giving hope to Everton, Wolves and whoever else may be keen on bringing an end to his Benfica nightmare.
