Scottish Premiership champions Celtic have been linked with Red Star Belgrade’s Serbian starlet Srdjan Babic.

Red Star Belgrade are willing to accept a bargain fee of just under £1 million for highly-rated centre-back Srdjan Babic according to Zurnal, with Celtic rumoured to be interested.
A 6ft 5ins Serbian U21 international is expected to be on the move this summer after impressing in his homeland. Babic has won two league titles for Red Star since returning to Belgrade after an ill-fated spell at Real Sociedad.
Hurriyet reported earlier in the year that the 23-year-old’s performances had caught the eye of clubs like Celtic, Nice, Feyenoord and Monaco.
And reports that Red Star are willing to accept a very affordable sum for one of the most promising young defenders in Eastern Europe should only increase the speculation surrounding Babic’s future.

Zurnal claims that Red Star, who beat Liverpool in the Champions League group stages, value their promising stopper at just £880,000; a fee that would still see them earn a profit on a player they snapped up for next to nothing two years ago.
Celtic are crying out for reinforcements at centre-back with Dedryck Boyata joining Hertha Berlin and Filip Benkovic returning to Leicester City.
