Wolves, Newcastle United and West Ham are the three Premier League teams being linked with Spezia’s Serie B talisman David Okereke.

David Okereke appears to be on his way to the Premier League this summer.

According to The Sun, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Newcastle United are going head-to-head to sign the Spezia striker, who has produced 10 goals and 12 assists in the second tier of Italian football this season. While Wolves and Newcastle are weighing up bids for a forward who is valued at £8 million, West Ham cannot be discounted either.

Spezia’s sporting director Guido Angelozzi told Tuttomercatoweb this week that The Hammers are looking to bring the jet-heeled Okereke to the London Stadium.

Now, the average punter probably won’t know too much about the 21-year-old Nigerian but the fact that he has been labelled the ‘new Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’ speaks volumes.

“I think his finishing because in the box and outside the box he is very dangerous. I would love to finish, score more,” Okereke told AllNigeriaSoccer when asked which attributes he wants to take from the Arsenal talisman.

Like Okereke, Aubameyang started his career as a blistering winger before being transformed into one of Europe’s most feared centre-forwards at Borussia Dortmund.

The Gabonese superstar has scored 31 goals in his first full season at Arsenal, firing Unai Emery’s side into the Europa League final. If Okereke proves to be just as prolific, Wolves, Newcastle or West Ham will have some talent on their hands.
