Wolverhampton Wanderers reportedly want to make AC Milan striker Andre Silva their first signing as a Premier League club, but is he leaving Serie A?

Wolves’ links with AC Milan hitman Andre Silva are not going away.

The Black Country giants were first tipped to make a shock swoop for the Portuguese international number nine back in January and, according to Gianluca Di Marzio, there is still a chance that Silva could end up at Molineux this summer, one year after he joined Milan from Porto for £33 million.

The report says that Wolves have made Silva their top priority this summer as they look for a striker capable of scoring at a reliable rate in the Premier League.

Interestingly, Silva is represented by Jorge Mendes, the man who brought the likes of Ruben Neves, Helder Costa and Nuno Espirito Santo to Molineux thanks to his close relations with the club’s Chinese owners.

And the Sun (10 May, page 55) backs up those claims from Italy that the 22-year-old is Wolves’ number one transfer target this summer.

Furthermore, the report adds that Wolves would have little trouble paying any fee Milan would demand for Silva. It is understood that the Serie A giants, who may be under pressure to sell this summer after failing to qualify for the Champions League, would like to recoup the £33 million they spent last year.

Silva is set to be Portugal’s first choice centre-forward at the World Cup in a few weeks, but will head to Russia on the back of a hugely underwhelming debut season in Milan. He scored just twice in Serie A and started only seven league games.
