Clubs in both the Premier League and the Championship are keen to lure young centre-back Cameron John from Wolverhampton Wanderers this January.
Surely the only reason why anyone would want to leave Wolverhampton Wanderers right now is because they have absolutely no chance of forcing their way into the starting XI.
And for all of Cameron John’s potential, you could hardly blame him for considering an exit from the Championship leaders this month as Nuno Espirito Santo’s side cruise towards the Premier League.
The 18-year-old centre-back has featured exclusively for Wolves’ reserve side this season, and with Roderick Miranda, Conor Coady, Danny Batth, Kortney Hause and Willy Boly (below) all fighting for a place in the starting XI, that does not appear likely to change any time soon.
So with John attracting interest from clubs in the top two tiers of English football, the Mail states that the Black Country side will be open to offers this month.
The teenager, who can also play at left-back, has been a hugely impressive figure for Scott Sellar’s Under-23 team this season and has even attracted interest from the Premier League, alongside fellow Wolves youngster Morgan Gibbs-White (below).
And it is testament to the strength of this current Wolves side that a young talent deemed good enough to make the grade in the top flight appears to have absolutely no chance of forcing his way into the club’s first-team plans.
Time will tell, however, whether Wolves would be making a mistake cashing in on a player who has the world at his feet.
