Andre Gomes could reportedly leave La Liga champions Barcelona for the Premier League with Wolverhampton Wanderers eyeing the Jorge Mendes client.

As far as transfer rumours go, this one was fairly inevitable.
Andre Gomes has been linked with numerous Premier League clubs in recent months and, as he is represented by none other than Jorge Mendes, it was only a matter of time before the newly promoted Wolverhampton Wanderers entered the race.

Gomes moved to the Camp Nou in 2016 after a fine spell at Valencia but has struggled badly to justify his £30 million price-tag ever since. The Portuguese Euro 2016 champion has never really found the same form he showed at the Mestalla and reached his nadir in February when booed by sections of the Barca support after coming off the bench against Atletico Madrid.
A move away from Catalonia looks inevitable, particularly with Ernesto Valverde’s side wanting to cash in on a few key players to avoid potential Financial Fair Play sanctions.

Gianluca Di Marzio claimed on Tuesday that Arsenal were leading North London rivals Tottenham in the chase for Gomes, whose price-tag has been set at a minimum of £35 million. Barcelona will be laughing all the way to the bank if they make a profit on one of their biggest flops in recent seasons.
But, with Mendes giving Wolves a considerable trump card, do not rule out the Black Country side winning the race.
