Premier League newcomers Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly eyeing two Lazio defenders in Wallace and Bastos, but which one will they sign?

Wolverhampton Wanderers might have kept 24 clean sheets in the Championship last season and boasted the division’s joint-best defensive record alongside Cardiff City, but that does not mean the Premier League newcomers are resting on their laurels.
A 37-time Angolan international, Bastos moved to the Stadio Olimpico from FC Rostov in 2016 for around £4 million and made 16 appearances in the Italian top flight last season for Simone Inzaghi’s side.

The 27-year-old featured regularly in the Europa League, too, where Lazio reached the quarter-finals only to capitulate against Austrian champions Red Bull Salzburg.
The report adds that if Wolves want to bring Bastos to Molineux, they will have to pay a fee of around £13 million. This would not break the bank, however, with the fortune of Wolves’ Chinese owners well into the billions.

Interestingly, Bastos is not the only Lazio centre-back who has been linked with Wolves of late. Radio Sei claimed in June that the Black Country club were interested in 23-year-old Brazilian Wallace, too.
With Lazio having recently lost Stefan de Vrij to Inter Milan, however, they will surely be unwilling to let both defenders go so Wolves have a decision to make – Bastos or Wallace?
