Nuno Espirito Santo has been linked with a reunion with Porto winger Yacine Brahimi at Premier League outfit Wolverhampton Wanderers.
With Financial Fair Play sanctions looming over FC Porto, the reigning Primeira Liga champions are ready and willing to cash in on Yacine Brahimi.
And this will not go unnoticed by clubs in the Premier League. Especially with France Football adding that Porto could even accept as little as £22 million for one of the best creative talents in all of Portuguese football – far lower than his £52.7 million release clause.
Brahimi is a man in demand. France Football claims that the Algerian has admirers in Serie A in the shape of Roma and Inter Milan while Wolves, as you might have guessed, are interested in raiding Porto once again.
The 28-year-old is an old-school dribbler and was involved in 22 goals in all competitions last season, scoring 12 and setting up another 10. He would be a wonderful addition for a Wolves side who, according to The Mirror, have targeted an ambitious sixth place finish in their first season back in the Premier League.
Signing a player with Brahimi’s creative talents, and pairing him with Diogo Jota, Ivan Cavaleiro or Helder Costa, would certainly strike fear into top flight defences.
Brahimi joining Wolves would reunite him with his former Porto manager Nuno Espirito Santo. Interestingly, however, player and manager didn’t always see eye-to-eye at the Dragao – meaning they would have to put aside any potential differences very quickly.
