Crystal Palace appear to have lost out to Premier League rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers for Anderlecht star Leander Dendoncker.

Belgian publication Het Belang Van Limburg claimed on Wednesday morning that Crystal Palace were leading Wolverhampton Wanderers in the chase for Leander Dendoncker.
The Eagles had apparently opened talks with the 23-year-old Belgian international, who has caught the eye following some excellent performances for Anderlecht over the last two seasons.
But in a sudden twist of fate, it seems that Wolves are now right at the front of the queue for arguably the hottest prospect in Belgian football right now.
DH are reporting that Dendoncker is set to join the ambitious Premier League newcomers, who have been tracking his progress for the last six months. The versatile midfielder is understood to have travelled to England today and should sign a contract with Wolves before the transfer window shuts on Thursday afternoon.

DH add that the transfer fee could be up to around £13.5 million, which is a bargain in today’s market for a player who has represented Belgium at international level and finished third at the 2018 World Cup.
Dendoncker is a classy operator who will provide competition for Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho in central midfield. He can also play in a back three so could act as a sweeper in Nuno Espirito Santo’s fluid system.
