Andy Hollins has been handed an opportunity to earn a contract at Championship leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The present may be very exciting at Molineux but Wolverhampton Wanderers are working hard to ensure that this golden generation has legs.
A number of highly-rated young talents have made below-the-radar moves to the Black Country in the last few months, Spanish striking starlet Rafa Mir arrived from Valencia and fellow attacker Benny Ashley-Seal from Norwich City, to give you just two examples.
It is understood that 18-year-old Andy Hollins is on trial with the Championship leaders in a bid to win a contract. The versatile Hollins came through the ranks at Rochdale but has most recently played for Colne in the Evo-Stick League, so he will be praying that he is handed his big break at Wolves.
Hollins has played twice so far for Scott Sellars’ U23 side, impressing at centre-half against Bury before switching to left-back for a far less positive 5-1 defeat against Bournemouth on Monday.
And it remains to be seen whether or not Wolves will deem Hollins good enough for a side with huge ambitions.
As it stands, centre-half is one of the strongest areas in Wolves’ squad with Willy Boly, Conor Coady, Roderick Miranda, Danny Batth and Kortney Hause all at the disposal of manger Nuno Espirito Santo.
