Divock Origi is out of favour at Liverpool and is reportedly being targeted by Wolverhampton Wanderers.
It takes a brave man to make that short journey from one side of Stanley Park to the other. In fact, no player has swapped Liverpool for Everton (or vice versa) since Abel Xavier moved from Goodison Park to Anfield 16 years ago.
But, according to ESPN, Divock Origi could join a rather rare group of players.
It is claimed that Everton are keen to enhance their strike force in January and are keen to hand the Belgian international an escape route out of Liverpool, the striker having fallen out of favour at Anfield in the last year or so.
But Everton are not the only Premier League club keen on Origi. The Liverpool Echo reports that Wolverhampton Wanderers are expected to make a new approach for the former Wolfsburg loanee, having come so close to signing him over the summer.
Origi turned down a move to Molineux in August after Wolves had agreed a £22 million fee with Jurgen Klopp’s side, ESPN add.
With Wolves enjoying an outstanding start to the Premier League season and establishing themselves as potential European challengers, it remains to be seen whether Origi will now be more open to joining Nuno Espirito Santo’s high-flyers.
The Liverpool Echo claim that the Reds are willing to sell if someone meets their £20 million-plus price-tag.
Wolves have only two natural centre forwards on their books right now and Leo Bonatini and Raul Jimenez have scored just two Premier League goals between them.
