Premier League newcomers Wolverhampton Wanderers have added little-known Notts County starlet Dongda He to their talented squad.
Wolverhampton Wanderers completed two very under-the-radar signings at the end of the permanent transfer window.
Another Portuguese starlet, Joao Caiado has joined from Primeira Liga outfit Tondela and 17-year-old Chinese starlet Dondga He put pen to paper too.
According to the club’s official website, the 17-year-old midfielder has moved to Molineux on a scholarship deal, though we can forgive fans if they don’t know much about him so far. Dongda only broke into Notts County’s first team plans this summer and impressed in pre-season, scoring in a 3-1 win against Brentford.
And Alan Hardy, owner of the League Two club, suggests that this deal has worked out well for all parties.
“First and foremost, we’re very, very proud of Dongda,” Hardy told the club’s official website.
“He’s a player this club has nurtured for many years and to see him get his move to the Premier League is fantastic.
“For us, it’s a lucrative deal which will only improve in time.”
The Nottingham Post reports that County have received a ‘significant sum’ after intense negotiations with Wolves. Dongda had expressed his wish to sign for the Black Country club in order to follow his dream of playing Premier League football.
He will now attempt to make an impact in the academy alongside the likes of Pedro Goncalves and Ryan Giles, who shone in pre-season.
