Jonny Castro Otto is only on loan at Wolverhampton Wanderers from La Liga side Atletico Madrid.

The January transfer window is just six weeks away and Wolverhampton Wanderers have allegedly drawn up their plans.

The likes of Amadou Diawara, Jean-Clair Tobido and Divock Origi have been linked of late. But the Birmingham Mail reports that Wolves’ priority will be to keep a player who has impressed since moving to Molineux on loan.

The Spanish left-back has started all 12 Premier League games for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side this season, proving a major upgrade on the departed Barry Douglas.

But Jonny is only on loan from Atletico Madrid, who signed the 24-year-old on a six-year deal in July from Celta Vigo.

So, the Birmingham Mail adds, Diego Simeone’s side would demand a big profit on the £6.2 million they paid their La Liga rivals just four months ago (AS).

Whether Atletico are even willing to listen to offers for Jonny remains to be seen. The club’s long-serving left-back Filipe Luis is entering the final few months of his contract, and it appears Jonny had been identified as the Brazilian’s long-term replacement.

So Wolves may have to pull out the big guns in January if Jonny is to stay at Molineux beyond 2019.
