Dominic Iorfa and Jordan Graham are spending the season on loan at Ipswich Town and Fulham but could be set for a return to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

If they wanted to, Wolverhampton Wanderers could blow the rest of the Championship out of the water in the transfer market.

But with an 11-point lead at the top of the table, it appears they do not need to. Even as early as January, promotion seems an inevitability for arguably the best side the second tier has ever seen.

As a result, it seems that Wolves’ Chinese owners will be happy enough to save their funds for next season with Wolves coasting in first place.

The Express and Star reported in December that manager Nuno Espirito Santo was keen on a striker and a right-wing back in the January transfer window. Wolves have ticked one box, pulling off the eye-catching signing of prolific Valencia youngster Rafa Mir.

Although the Black Country-based publication has suggested that there may be no new right-sided defenders at Molineux this month. It is understood that Wolves are only willing to spend money on a player equal to, or better than, the swashbuckling Matt Doherty.

But with Doherty needing some competition, or perhaps a back-up, it is understood that Wolves are open to the idea of recalling either Dominic Iorfa or Jordan Graham from their loan spells at Ipswich Town and Fulham respectively.

Iorfa is a centre-half by trade but has played 11 Championship games on the right for Mick McCarthy’s Ipswich this season.

Graham, meanwhile, has struggled for opportunities at Fulham with just 33 minutes of league football under his belt but has the pace and creativity to fulfil the attacking duties of a wing-back if required.

This, however, would likely be a short-term fix. Expect Wolves to spend big on a new right-sided player if, or when, promotion is sealed.
