Andreas Samaris could finally move to the Premier League with reports claiming West Ham United and Wolverhampton Wanderers are keen.
Wolverhampton Wanderers and West Ham United have joined the race to sign Benfica midfielder Andreas Samaris this summer, according to Record.
The Greek international has been linked with a move to the Premier League on a regular basis over the last two years or so, A Bola reporting as recently as January that Newcastle United had failed with a £500,000 offer for a player who is due to become a free agent at the end of the season.
The Magpies have been mentioned as a potential destination for Samaris during every transfer window since the summer of 2017.
But it seems they have competition now with Wolves and West Ham suddenly expressing an interest.
An experienced 29-year-old midfielder with 35 caps for his country, the former Olympiakos enforcer is on track to win the Primeira Liga title for the fourth time in five years at Benfica.
And he will be missed when his time at the Estadio da Luz comes to an end. Samaris has been one of Benfica’s stand out players since the turn of the year after all.
