Bournemouth might sell Benik Afobe this month with Premier League rivals West Brom and former club Wolverhampton Wanderers interested.

Another transfer window, another month in which Wolves have been tipped to bring Benik Afobe back to Molineux.

It seems like the striker has been linked with a return almost every day since he left to join Bournemouth for £10 million in the winter of 2016.

And, according to the Mirror (live transfer blog, 2.42pm), Wolves are once again keeping a close eye on his situation with Afobe struggling for opportunities on the South Coast.

It is understood that the 24-year-old is hoping to quit Bournemouth this month in search of a fresh start, after being included in the first XI just five times in the Premier League all season long.

And Wolves may be tempted to offer him a route back to Molineux, a temptation perhaps exacerbated by the fact that their only natural centre-forward, Leo Bonatini, has failed to score in his last ten games in all competitions.

The Birmingham Mail state that Wolves’ Midland rivals West Brom are also keen on Afobe as manager Alan Pardew aims to add some much-needed goalscoring threat to a side who have struggled in the final third all season.

But with FFP hanging over the Baggies’ head, the report states that West Brom do not want to pay £10 million for a striker who has not scored all season.

There is a distinct possibility that Afobe could be back at Molineux before the month is out then, with the former fan favourite angling for a move and West Brom seemingly ruled out.
