Everton are facing Premier League competition for RB Leipzig striker Augustin with Southampton and Wolverhampton Wanderers reportedly keen too.

One month ago today, The Sun reported that Everton had expressed an interest in the promising RB Leipzig forward Jean Kevin Augustin.

Marco Silva is desperate to add another attacking option to his Toffees side with both Oumar Niasse and Cenk Tosun failing to impress the Portugues tactician. But The Sun has a new story about Augustin on Wednesday and they have thrown two more Premier League sides into the mix.

It is claimed that both Southampton and Wolverhampton Wanderers have joined the race with Augustin facing an uncertain future in Germany.

The former PSG forward has started just three Bundesliga games for Leipzig this season, having lost his place to Danish international Youssouf Poulsen, and it is understood that he would jump at the chance to join a Premier League side this month.

Wolves have apparently turned to 21-year-old Augustin after a deal for Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham hit a brick wall while Southampton coach Ralph Hasenhuttl knows the striker well, having coached him at Leipzig last season.

Augustin shone under Hasenhuttl too, scoring nine goals in 14 Bundesliga starts.

The Sun points out that any club who want to sign the youngster will have to pay a staggering £38 million – which would be a club-record fee for Wolves and The Saints.
