Osmanlispor have rejected a bid from West Ham for Bodou N’Diaye, meaning Everton will now step up their pursuit.
West Ham’s loss looks like being Everton’s gain. After weeks of being linked with a summer move for Osmanlispor midfielder Bodou N’Diaye, it is now doubtful whether the 27-year-old will be posing for photographs in claret and blue before the end of August.
According to Turkish publication Fanatik, the Hammers had a £7 million bid rejected for N’Diaye, a versatile attacking midfielder who netted six league goals for Osmanlispor last season.
N’Diaye has eight caps for Senegal
The 26-year-old, who can also play up front, has long been linked with the Premier League with Sky Sports claiming earlier this month that Newcastle United and Crystal Palace were also among his lengthy queue of suitors.
Osmanlispor will reportedly demand £10 million and, considering that Everton have hardly held back when it comes to splashing the cash this summer, it would be a surprise if they were to follow West Ham’s lead and make an offer below the club’s asking price.
Everton struggled for goals from midfield last season, Ross Barkley and Kevin Mirallas the highest scorers with just four. Therefore, N’Diaye could come in handy as the club look to share the goal-scoring burden around following the departure of Romelu Lukaku.
