Salomon Rondon is reportedly a target for West Ham United after scoring 12 Premier League goals on loan at Rafa Benitez’s Newcastle United.

West Ham United have indicated that they are willing to pay the £16.5 million fee required to sign Salomon Rondon this summer, according to the Northern Echo, as the race to sign the West Bromwich Albion target man hots up.
Rondon enjoyed his best ever Premier League season on loan at Newcastle United in 2018/19, scoring 12 goals and winning the club’s Player of the Year award.
Rafa Benitez would love to sign the Venezuelan on a permanent basis but, with owner Mike Ashley seemingly unwilling about investing a big sum in a player who will turn 30 before the end of the year, there is a good chance Rondon could start next season at another Premier League club.
West Ham are interested and, according to the Echo, they would have no qualms about triggering his £16.5 million release clause.

With the Hammers expected to sell Marko Arnautovic, Javier Hernandez and Lucas Perez, Rondon would represent a much-needed addition in the final third.
Wolverhampton Wanderers are also expected to do battle with the Mail reporting on Thursday that the Midlands side want to provide competition for Raul Jimenez.
