West Ham United failed with a £6.5million bid for Gary Medel with 2017 Turkish Super Lig champions Besiktas reportedly snubbing their offer.

West Ham United are still keen to sign Gary Medel having missed out on the Chilean international during the January transfer window, according to Takvim.
The 31-year-old was heavily linked with a move to the London Stadium in January, with Hammers boss Manuel Pellegrini seemingly keen to sign his compatriot and add depth to a midfield that has been decimated by injuries to Jack Wilshere and Carlos Sanchez.
The deal failed to materialise, however, with Miliyet reporting that West Ham had a £6.5 million bid rejected.
Although, according to Takvim, Medel could still be on his way to the London Stadium with his contract due to expire at the end of this season. The former Inter Milan and Sevilla enforcer, who represented Cardiff City in the Premier League during the 2013/14 season, will become a free agent.

It is understood that Medel is ‘disgusted’ after Besiktas refused to let him return to English football. But he could finally get his wish with West Ham still allegedly keeping a close eye on developments.
The two-time Copa America winner could be a fine addition on a free.
