West Ham United were reportedly told to pay £35million for Sevilla’s La Liga ace Vazquez in the summer transfer window.

West Ham United spent big in the summer, with over £100 million worth of talent arriving at the London Stadium. But it seems the Hammers have not stopped there.

Noticias ao Minuto claimed on Tuesday that West Ham are expected to revive their interest in Porto winger Yacine Brahimi, who turned them down in August, ahead of the January transfer window.

But the Algerian international is not the only failed summer target who West Ham are still keen to sign.

Tuttomercatoweb are reporting that the claret and blues remain hopeful of signing the Sevilla play-maker Franco Vazquez and are expected to make an approach in the next couple of weeks.

The 29-year-old Argentine international is in his third season in La Liga after arriving from Palermo in the summer of 2016 and has helped Pablo Machin’s side reach the top of the table, ahead of Barcelona and Real Madrid, after eight games.

West Ham’s director of football Mario Husillos is understood to have contacted Vazquez’s agent in July, according to Estadio Deportivo, only to be told that Sevilla would not sell for a penny less than his £35 million release clause.

So West Ham will have to stump up if they want to bring Vazquez to England for the first time.
