Fenerbahce reportedly turned down Andy Carroll but it remains to be seen whether West Ham United will get rid of the striker this summer.
Fenerbahce might have reportedly rejected the chance to sign Andy Carroll from West Ham United but that does not mean the perma-crocked target man will not end up in Turkey by the end of this summer.
One of the most injury-prone players in English football, Carroll is facing three months on the sidelines after a scan on his ankle discovered that he needed surgery. The 29-year-old missed over three months last season, too; managing just seven Premier League starts in total.
And it seems that West Ham are now keen to cash in if possible.
Fanatik is claiming that the Hammers have offered Carroll to Besiktas; the Turkish Super Lig giants who are in the market for a marquee centre-forward.
The former England international has just one year left on his contract, meaning this is West Ham’s last chance to earn some money from a player they paid £15 million for in the summer of 2013.
And it is understood that Besiktas are interested. Wilfried Bony, Andre-Pierre Gignac, Kostas Mitroglou and Crystal Palace powerhouse Christian Benteke are also understood to be on the radar of the 2017 Super Lig champions.
West Ham have strengthened their squad brilliantly over the summer, solving a number of problem positions while adding real star quality in Andriy Yarmolenko and record signing Felipe Anderson.
And getting a decent fee for Carroll would be another piece of excellent business.
