Turkish Super Lig side Besiktas will not let Gary Medel leave on the cheap with West Ham United keen to bring him back to the Premier League.

Besiktas might be in a dire financial position right now but that does not mean they are willing to let Gary Medel leave on the cheap.
The 31-year-old Chilean midfielder has been tipped to link up with his compatriot Manuel Pellegrini at West Ham United in January, with Milliyet claiming that the London club had offered £6.5 million for Medel’s services.
The report, however, claimed that Besiktas rejected the bid as manager Senol Gunes wants to keep the former Cardiff City, Inter Milan and Sevilla enforcer in Istanbul.
But West Ham are not giving up just yet.
Milliyet has provided an update, claiming the Hammers have now offered £7.7 million for the Medel, who is understood to be keen on a move to the English capital.

With the report pointing out that Besiktas value the two-time Copa America winner at around £9 million, however, it may take a third bid from West Ham before they finally get their man.
Medel, a tough and tenacious central midfielder, spent the 2013/14 season with Cardiff City and impressed with his aggressive and energetic approach, despite his side finishing bottom of the table under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
