FC Porto are reportedly playing hardball over Moussa Marega with West Ham United keen.
The Moussa Marega to West Ham United saga continues to rumble on with just a day of the transfer window remaining.
The striker has been linked with a move to the London Stadium all summer long and reports from Record at the weekend claimed that he is now refusing to play for FC Porto as he is attempting to force through a move to The Hammers, who he is desperate to join.
It seems the feeling is mutual. Latest reports from L’Equipe on Wednesday morning are claiming that West Ham have indeed made a bid for Marega – understood to be in the region of £26 million.
Premier League rivals Everton are also keen, and they should be too with Cenk Tosun looking like the club’s only reliable source of goals, but it is not known yet whether The Toffees have actually put a serious offer on the table.
The problem is, however, that Porto are playing hardball. Marega has a release clause in his contract worth around £35 million and the Primeira Liga champions are refusing to sell the Mali international for a penny less.
Marega scored 22 goals in 29 league games last season as Porto won the title for the first time in five years.
