Mario Mandzukic could finally be heading to the Premier League with West Ham and Manchester United allegedly targeting the Juventus striker.

West Ham United can sign one of the most decorated strikers of a generation for just £9 million in January. That is according to TuttoJuve, who claim that Mario Mandzukic could finally be on his way to the Premier League after falling out of favour at Juventus.

At the age of 33, there is not much left for Mandzukic to achieve. He has won league titles with Bayern Munich and Juventus, starred in Spain for Atletico Madrid and featured in the final of the World Cup and the Champions League. In total, the battle-scarred Croatian has won 22 trophies in his dazzling career.

But time is running out if he wants to sample the delights of English football before it’s too late.

Fortunately, he’s not short of suitors.

After rejecting a money-spinning move to Qatar, TuttoJuve reports that West Ham and Manchester United will offer Mandzukic, who is evidently still hungry to prove himself at the top level, a route out of Turin.

The report adds that Mandzukic is likely to be guaranteed regular game-time at the London Stadium, but he will have to compete for a place with another 6ft-something targetman in Sebastian Haller.

Then again, with the unproven Albian Ajeti, who toiled in that 4-0 thrashing at Oxford United, the only real back-up in Manuel Pellegrini’s squad, £9 million is a small price to pay for a man who could make a huge difference on and off the pitch at West Ham.
