Liverpool will look to loan out Marko Grujic in January with West Ham United and Huddersfield offering him the chance to stay in the Premier League.
Marko Grujic may be one of the hottest young midfielders in European football, but it seems that he will have to leave Liverpool, at least on a temporary basis, to show just how talented he is.
Fortunately, there are a few top flight clubs willing to take a punt on the Serbian starlet. According to ESPN, West Ham United and Huddersfield Town have both enquired about the possibility of taking Grujic on loan for the rest of the season.
It is understood that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is open to the idea of Grujic, who cost Liverpool £5.1 million from Red Star Belgrade, leaving Anfield this month. But Klopp wants the midfielder to move to a team who will hand him regular first-team football after he made just three substitute league appearances this season.
“I really see Marko in the future playing for Liverpool. But he’s not playing in the moment so we have to see what we can do to make it more likely that he comes through in the near future,” Klopp said last month.
So it remains to be seen who Liverpool believe is the best destination for a player who has been likened to, amongst others, Steven Gerrard, Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic for his rangy, powerpacked frame and thumping long-distance strikes.
West Ham manager David Moyes stated only last month that he wanted another midfielder and Grujic could be the kind of dynamic and technically gifted enforcer he is looking out for.
Huddersfield, however, could benefit more from Grujic’s qualities in the final third, with David Wagner’s side a little light on creativity beyond the excellent Aaron Mooy.
