Portu scored nine La Liga goals as Girona were relegated last season but will he be handed an escape by Premier League pair West Ham United or Brighton?

West Ham United and Brighton are looking to snap up Spanish striker Portu after his Girona side were relegated from La Liga, according to El Mundo Deportivo.
Christian Portugues Manzanera, better known as ‘Portu’, was a bright spark in a miserable season for the Catalan club. He formed a terrific partnership with Uruguayan talisman Cristhian Stuani, scoring nine goals in 34 La Liga games.
The one-time Valencia and Albacete forward also hit the target on 11 occasions in 2017/18 as Girona enjoyed an impressive first season in the Spanish top flight.
And it seems that Portu has done enough to earn a move away from the Montilivi this summer with Premier League duo West Ham and Brighton interested.

Portu was expected to join Real Sociedad on a five-year deal but El Mundo Deportivo believes that deal is far from complete just yet. La Real cannot afford to meet his £8.8 million price-tag and therefore want to pay the fee in a number of instalments.
West Ham and Brighton, however, would probably not have the same problem with the Premier League riches making £8.8 million something of a drop in the ocean.
