Spurs are keen for Georges-Kevin N’Koudou to leave on loan but Burnley look to have beaten Premier League rivals West Bromwich Albion in the race.
Georges-Kevin N’Koudou’s nightmare spell at Tottenham Hotspur is set to come to an end this month – at least temporarily.
According to L’Equipe, the winger is set to join Premier League rivals Burnley on loan with Sean Dyche convincing him that a short-term move to Turf Moor would kick-start a Premier League career that has never got going.
The report adds that N’Koudou still harbours hope of salvaging his Spurs career, a year-and-a-half after sealing his protracted £11 million move from Marseille. But it is understood that Tottenham could look to cash in if he impresses during his stint at Burnley.
And with the Clarets edging closer, it appears that West Brom have all but missed out. L’Equipe claims that the Baggies were also in the race to sign the 22-year-old with struggling manager Alan Pardew desperate to add more creativity to a toothless side.
Although N’Koudou has played just 50 minutes of Premier League football since moving to North London, his tally of five goals and three assists for Marseille during the 2015/16 season were an indication of his vision and speed in the final third.
N’Koudou could have been a good addition for a Baggies side who have scored fewer goals this season than any other Premier League side bar Swansea City.
But it seems that he will instead join Burnley. And the prospect of working with Dyche, a manager who appears to have a habit of helping players realise their potential, could prove to be a turning point in his England career.
