Slaven Bilic needs one more striker for his Championship hopefuls West Bromwich Albion but how about Switzerland international Ajeti?

West Bromwich Albion could miss out on a deal for prolific Basel forward Albian Ajeti with Express and Star claiming that his wage demands are far too high for the Championship outfit.
With the new season looming large on the horizon, The Baggies are building a new squad for manager Slaven Bilic with Romaine Sawyers, Kenneth Zohore and Semi Ajayi adding plenty of Championship experience in all areas of the squad.
Benfica loanee Filip Krovinovic, meanwhile, already looks like an inspired addition at the heart of midfield.
But while Zohore arrived from Cardiff for big money, West Brom’s strike force still needs some work since the departures of Jay Rodriguez and Dwight Gayle.
And, according to the Express and Star, The Baggies turned their attention to Ajeti.

The Switzerland international enjoyed a superb breakthrough campaign in 2018/19, scoring 21 goals and providing 11 assists despite Basel finishing well adrift of Young Boys in the table.
But the report adds that Ajeti’s wage demands could scupper a move to the Hawthorns. West Brom are still interested but they are now scouring the market for cheaper alternatives.
