West Bromwich Albion failed to bring Fenerbahce midfielder Josef de Souza to the Premier League last summer but is a move to The Hawthorns still possible?

West Brom did not wait around to replace their much-maligned technical director Nick Hammond after showing him the door on Thursday.
Italian Gianluca Terraneo arrived at The Hawthorns in a similar role on the same day, being appointed as a technical consultant on an initial six-month deal. And it seems his first task at West Brom could be to sign a player the club missed out on last summer.

Souza got cold feet at the 11th hour, however, telling Turkish Football that he eventually turned down the move as he was concerned by the amount of competition at The Hawthorns, fearing that he would suffer from a lack of game time.
Fotomac, however, believes that Souza could once again be on West Brom’s radar.
Terraneo knows the 29-year-old very well, having brought him to Fenerbahce in 2015 from Sau Paulo when he worked at the Istanbul-based club.

And it is understood that he will attempt to reunite with Souza at West Brom, although Fotomac believe the midfielder’s price-tag has risen to around £14 million after a very impressive season in Turkish football.
This time, Souza should be a little less concerned about a lack of minutes with Grzegorz Krychowiak, Claudio Yacob and James Morrison all set to depart this summer.
